1001 dreams

From 2011 to The Present:

“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes”
— Carl Jung

“1001 Dreams” is an ongoing empirical study, drafted in tandem with research sociologist Elizabeth B. Silva, that reveals the shared urban psyche in three major cities. It has been presented at conferences in the UK including “Framing the City*”, Manchester in 2012, and again in London in 2013 in “Cultural Haunting and the Shared Unconscious: An experiment with Dreams and Art in Cosmopolitan Space**” at the Open University. A new form of gathering information on the collective unconscious takes shape at night, while people sleep — and fine art is the vehicle.*

Presented at CRESC
** Funded by the Open University Centre for Citizenship, Identity and Governance (CCIG); the Psychosocial Research Group; the British Sociological Association of Psychoanalysis; and the Psycho-social and Sociology Study Group.
